Conference 2011: The Continent of Eurasia After the Crisis:Challenges and Prospects for Cooperation

On 27-28 May 2011 in Riga, the Baltic Forum held its annual conference. This year's event was focusing on the challenges of establishing a comprehensive partnership between Russia and the European Union after the global economic crisis; the EU's role in Russia's modernisation; current energy security trends in Europe and in the Baltic Sea Region; the role of modern and reliable transcontinental transit corridors for regional economic integration and other issues. European and Asian Media Forum 2011

Long-term "Baltic Forum" partner, the International information agency of Russia "RIA Novosti" organized the European and Asian Media Forum 2011 (FEAM-2011). FEAM-2011 held in the Kazakhstan capital Astana from November 20 to 22. The main motto of the forum this year was "20 years of Independence: Media and Society". >>

 

Russia and Latvia: Communicative Space without Memorial Barriers

On 7 June 2011, The Baltic Forum together with the Russian news agency RIA Novosti organised a round-table discussion titled Russia and Latvia: Communicative Space without Memorial Barriers. This was the fourth meeting between Latvian and Russian journalists, academics, NGO representatives to discuss the interaction between the two societies in the information, humanitarian and culture areas. The discussion was take place as we commemorate seventy years since the events of the summer of 1941. >>
